外语系承担科技人员外语继续教育培训任务。开展上海市通用英语初级、中级考试；大学英语四级、六级考试；标准日语初、中级考试；中高级职称外语等级考试的培训。大专、高职层次的学历教育开设英语秘书、外贸日语、商务英语等专业，为社会培养外语人才。 The Foreign Language Department　It takes on further education of science & technology personnel. It runs training of TEGP,CET 4 & 6 and standard Japanese test(elementary & 　intermediate),and English for senior and junior professional post. The certificate-oriented education offers specialties of college and higher vocational schooling concerning English Secretaries, Foreign Trade Japanese and Business English. It has cultivated large numbers of qualified personnel for the society. 　　 ●　外语系举办的ELIC英语教师培训班受到上海市教委的肯定。教学成果被列入1998年上海市教育成果展览会。 The ELIC training class by the Foreign Language Department was greatly approved by Shanghai Education Committee and was listed in the 98' Shanghai Education Achievement Exhibition.		●　受上海市委组织部委托学院举办局级干部英语进修班，孟建柱、刘云耕、蒋以任和万学远等领导曾参加学习。图为生动活泼的课堂教学。 Many current municipal leaders, such as Chen Liangyu,Meng Jianzhu, Liu Yungen, Jiang Yiren and Wan Xueyuan(Ex-president of Zhe Jiang Province),once attended the foreign language training class.
